Blackbird
AAA No. 18885912, PB Angus Described by one industry leader as “the ideal Angus cow” and by another as “an absolute beast”, Blackbird comes as close to exactly what we are looking for in our Angus bull producing genetics as we have found. A stunning, massive body on a moderate structure wrapped around a genomic powerhouse. Blackbird proves our hypothesis that cattle can excel at calving ease, growth, docility, carcass traits and efficiency-we don’t have to sacrifice these other traits to get growth. She is in the top 1% for calving ease, birth weight, yearling weight, docility, milk, $W, top 2% for weaning weight and maternal calving ease, top 4% for carcass weight, top 10% for rate of gain, marbling and $B, top 15% scrotal, $M, $F and $G and top 25% mature weight and ribeye. Her maternal EPDs reflect that she packs massive weight on a moderate frame as her mature height EPD places her almost exactly in the middle of the pack for frame size but her mature weight EPD is in the top 25% of the breed. A foundation cow by definition. Click here for current EPDs. |
